Thomas Kelly

Thomas Kelly

Director

Thomas Kelly’s practice focuses on Telecom and Property matters. With over 35 years of global experience in these fields, his vast and varied experience includes telecom infrastructure agreements, regulatory matters, cross-border M&A transactions, litigation, IT, cloud and outsourcing transactions in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sectors, as well as real property acquisition, leasing, wayleaves, sales and dispositions involving data centres, fibre optic telecom infrastructure and related rights of use.

As a dual-qualified UK Solicitor and New York Attorney, he has during this time advised clients throughout the TMT and real property sectors on the development of their businesses through strategic commercial arrangements, and cost-effective dispute resolution. He has very extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including carrier, customer and co-location sales agreements, licences, and joint venture agreements, as well as data protection and acceptable use policies.

  • M&A transaction for acquisition of telecom infrastructure company with properties in 7 EU countries and Switzerland
  • Negotiation and drafting of framework agreement with mobile carrier for build-out of UK mobile cell tower network
  • Formation, operation and closing of telecom subsidiaries/affiliates in Canada, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore, including related regulatory filings
  • Creation of suite of template commercial documentation for customer sales agreements for 3 UK telecom providers
  • M&A transactions for acquisitions of data centres in US and EU.
  • Creation of Acceptable Use Policy for global telecom company
  • Preparation of responses to OFCOM consultations involving dark fibre business connectivity market reviews
  • Drafting and negotiation of IT agreements for marketing activities of multinational consumer products group, including related privacy / data protection issues

Tom graduated from Temple University School of Law, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the law review, and from Columbia University, New York, New York, where he graduated cum laude.

Anthony Owen

Anthony Owen is a former Magistrate who now specializes in real property litigation with a particular focus on Landlord/Tenant and Licensor/Licensee disputes. He has also worked extensively with several property development companies advising on the multitude of legal issues faced by property owners, developers and occupants.

Among other legal issues, Anthony assists Landlords with complex matters involving compliance with local authority matters such as HMO regulations, as well as commercial and residential eviction proceedings. He has considerable knowledge of publicly-funded work and its impact on private companies in litigation. He has conducted numerous public law matters in the High Court resulting in many reported cases setting precedents and changing existing law.

Anthony is to be found regularly in Courtrooms and Tribunals throughout the Greater London Metropolitan area representing small and medium enterprises and private clients in their claims for possession and a wide range of other contentious matters.

Anthony is on the committee of a local residents association, and has life-long interests in Mathematics, Music and Chess.

Aamna Qureshi has been a solicitor for over 14 years, having obtained her qualification in 2006. Aamna’s expertise and experience is in property law. She has has undertaken all manner of sales and purchases, both residential and commercial. She is also able to deal with the more complex property matters such as shared ownership properties, staircasing transactions, right-to-buy, new builds and mortgage repossession cases.

Aamna loves challenges and increasing her knowledge and has expanded her practice into property litigation and landlord and tenant law. She has worked with both private clients and housing associations in a wide range of landlord and tenant cases, including possession, eviction, rent arrears and other matters relating to tenancy agreements.

Aamna has appeared as advocate for her clients in court with successful results. She is always looking for new ways to develop and increase her knowledge of property law and transactions.

Emma Wilson

Costs Lawyer

Emma Wilson is a Costs Lawyer qualifying in 2014.  Emma started as a trainee costs draftsman in 2004 and has accumulated a wealth of experience over the years.  Emma has a broad knowledge of litigation and can assist with costs disputes in both Claimant and Defendant cases.  Emma undertakes advocacy at the Supreme Court Costs Office and County Courts in respect of disputed costs and advises on suitable recovery.  In addition to preparing Bills of Costs, Emma can prepare budgets, schedules of costs, Part 8 claims for costs, points of disputes and replies.

Emma worked for a large City costing firm for 3 years from 2011 to 2014 obtaining substantial experience in all areas of costs work.

Emma loves a challenge and enjoys technical arguments.  Over the years Emma has worked on a wide variety of legal matters including housing, personal injury, professional negligence, public law, bankruptcy and insolvency, breach of contract, private law family, solicitor and client and Legal Aid issues to name but a few.
